Song o’ February ‘PRETTY
FLOWERS'
for Valentine's Day
A banjo in a love song? Yes, and this tune written by Steve Martin is a winner. “Pretty Flowers” is on Steve’s first bluegrass album and it’s sung by Vince Gill and Dolly Parton, with Steve on the banjo. (You’re listening to Dolly’s voice, but that’s Megan Joy in the photo above. Megan sang it on an “American Idol” appearance.)
So, on Valentine’s Day, guys, bring your special one pretty flowers. And remember: “If we sat down on the sofa/If I told you funny stories/ If I moved a little closer/Would you put your hand in mine.” Be careful, though.
That last line could easily become: “Would your dad kick my behind.”
See y’all, Mike

No. 4, I can’t think of this without seeing the clay
