FATHER'S DAY JOKES
Father: Let me see your report card.
Son: I don’t have it.
Father: Why not?
Son: My friend just borrowed it. He wants to scare his parents.
“Dad, are bugs good to eat?” asked the boy.
“Let’s not talk about such things at the dinner table, son,” his father replied.
After dinner the father inquired, “Now, son, what did you want to ask me?”
“Oh, nothing,” the boy said. “There was a bug in your soup, but now it’s gone.”
A boy was at the zoo with his father. They were looking at the tigers, and his
dad was telling him how ferocious they were.
“Daddy, if the tigers got out and ate you up…”
“Yes, son?” the father asked, ready to console him.
“ …Which bus would I take home?” |

MUSICAL CHAIRS
In a circle, arrange chairs facing outward to total one fewer than the number of players. An additional player needs to be in charge of the music. When the music starts, the players walk around the chairs. When the music stops, players sit down in the nearest chair as soon as they can. The one player who does not have a chair is out. One of the chairs is then removed, and the game continues in this manner. The player that sits in the final chair is the winner. This game is traditionally played inside, but it can also be played outside with outdoor furniture and a portable music player.
Number of Players: A small group.
Equipment Needed: Music player or person making music, chairs. |

DAD'S
PERSONAL MUSTARD & KETCHUP BOTTLES
WHAT YOU NEED...
- 1 red (ketchup) bottle
- 1 yellow (mustard) bottle
- 1 sheet of 4-inch x 2-inch
mailing labels
- clear packing tape (optional)
WHAT TO DO...
|
|
Turn the sheet of labels sideways (so the labels are vertical—tall and skinny); they'll look better on the bottle this way.
Prepare labels for your child, by drawing a colored box around each label (to remind the artist to keep the drawing within the label). If your child can't write yet, you might want to write "Daddy's Diner" or your desired text on the label, too. Alternately, you can pre-print the boxes and the logo on the label with your computer graphics program and printer.
Let your child decorate the blank space on the label. If she needs inspiration, suggest she sketch something having to do with food, barbecues, or even Daddy's picture.
When the labels are finished, stick them onto the bottles. Make sure they adhere securely to the bottles.
If desired, cover labels with clear packing tape to cover and protect the artwork.
AUNTIE
MARGARET SEZ... You can pick up blank ketchup and mustard bottles at your local dollar store.
An additional idea would be to make a gift basket. These condiment bottles make a great addition to a barbecue-themed gift basket for father's day. Other suggestions for the basket: oven mitt, apron, barbecue tongs and spatula. |
