Hello Metro family and
friends! It's good to see you again and I hope you
had a good February.
|
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who competed in our
11th NFL Pigskin Pickem challenge. It was a lot of fun. It took time (5 months from start to finish) and commitment, so I commend the
33 players who made it all the way. Congratulations to our winner, Globile
Man. I am already looking forward to next year, and maybe
we'll even see the Lions in the post season.
Margaret
and I had a great road trip down to Florida to witness the
wedding of Sue and Victor. On the way down, we stopped a
couple days in Nashville to hang with Larry & Gina. We
had a great time with them and did lot's of fun stuff that
you can see on the Road
Trip page. Also on our trip, we went to the Georgia
Aquarium, Congaree National Park, and Caesar's Head, a
state park in South Carolina. We did lots of driving and
hiking. Except for the first few days, the weather was
great. Warm and sunny. We had such a great time.

Once
again, I would like to thank you for taking the time to submit material this month, or just reading and participating in this issue. Our next edition of the McCarty Metro be out in May, so I would like to wish you all a Happy St. Patrick's day, a blessed Easter, and a (there's a spider on the wall)
fun April Fools!
I leave you this month with a
special Easter poem. Enjoy...

Some people think we worship,
An old rugged, wooden cross.
They laugh at us and say it was,
The way they killed our boss.
. |
It could have been a hangman’s noose,
a spear, or sharpened sword.
It could have been a heavy rock, that they used to kill my Lord. |
.
It could have been an arrow’s tip,
The blade of someone’s knife.
It could have been a pit of flames,
They used to take His life.
.
.
I know they do not understand,
To them it makes no sense.
It’s not the instrument of death.
It’s WHAT it represents.
.
.
It could have been so many things,
To cause my Lord his loss.
But, the thing that I remember most,
He GAVE it on a CROSS!

Here's
to always remembering the true meaning of Easter.
For God so loved the world, he gave us his only
son.
