DATELINE:
TWIN LAKES GOLF CLUB
The 15th Annual Dan McCarty Golf Classic took place on June
5 at the Twin Lakes Golf and Swim Club. It was a warm and
sunny morning as 144 golfers joined together to honor the
memory of Dan McCarty, a lupus patient, who passed away in
1996. Low scores were the norm, and Team Decker walked away
with the 4 person scramble prize with an astounding 53.
Steve McCarty and Chuck Pottenger did a great job of putting
the event on once again, and the top raffle prizes were
donated by Eric Swan from Bradric Productions. The Metro on
behalf of the entire McCarty family would like to commend
and sincerely thank everyone who helped or participated in
this event.

Gull Lake 26 will go
down in the books as the first Gull Lake event without a McCarty
in the field. The rain soaked and chilly tournament saw a
familiar man wearing the famed powder blue leisure suit jacket.
Glen Lucas battled the elements and took home his 4th
consecutive title.

DATELINE: COLUMBUS,
OHIO
In other golf news, Kelly McCarty did get a round of golf in
preparation for the Dan McCarty Golf Classic. He traveled down
to Columbus, Ohio to play the Champions Golf Course with his son
Brad. The younger McCarty 'schooled' his father as he shot a 6
over par 78, including 2 birdies, 7 bogies and 1 double bogey.
In the meantime, Kelly did par a hole. WOOT WOOT!

DATELINE, NASHVILLE,
TENNESSEE
It's tough when you're birthday falls on evacuation day, but Larry's did,
on May 3. I talked to the boy about 7:45 and he was packing his things to move out. His apartment
was under orders to evacuate because of all the flooding going on Nashville.
Earlier in the day, he said the water was a foot from his first-floor balcony. Stay dry, everybody.
Here is a flood update written
by Larry McCarty himself.

In Grand Rapids, Mike McCarty accidentally plugged his
computer keyboard into his hi-fi system. Both the computer
and the amplifier blew up. Mike remarked "I'm not
stupid. That would be stereotyping."
In LA on a recent McCarty Metro podcast, Jerry McCarty confided
to Rick Farmiloe that he had a chance to appear on the Jay
Leno show as a last minute replacement to juggle. Jerry
ended up not doing it, but added "It's
not that I don't know how to juggle. I just didn't have the
balls to do it!"
Nurses at the Detroit Medical Center report finding a peep
hole in the women's shower room. Security Officer Rick
McCarty is looking into it.
A group of MSU chess players including captain Austin
McCarty checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby
discussing their recent victories. After an hour, the
manager came out of the office and told them to leave.
"But why?" Austin asked, "Because, I can't
stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer."

SOME
GOLF SHOT NICKNAMES (FOR THE DMGC)
.
We've all hit those types of dubious golf shots like the
"Danny DeVito" (fat and short) and the "Brad
Savage" (kinda ugly, but got the job done), but here are some new ones I hadn't heard of:
. |
A 'Rock Hudson' - a putt that looked straight, but wasn't
A 'Saddam Hussein' - from one bunker into another
A 'Yasser Arafat' - butt ugly and in the sand
A 'John Kennedy Jr.' - didn't quite make it over the water
A 'Rodney King' - over-clubbed
An 'OJ.'- got away with one
A 'Princess Grace' - should have used a driver
A 'Princess Di' - shouldn't have used the driver
A 'Condom' - safe, but didn't feel very good
A 'Brazilian' - shaved the hole
A 'Rush Limbaugh' - a little to the right
A 'Nancy Pelosi' - Way to the left and out of bounds
A 'James Joyce' - a putt that's impossible to read
A 'Ted Kennedy' - goes in the water and jumps out
A 'Pee Wee Herman' - too much wrist
A 'Sonny Bono' - straight into the trees
A 'Mickey Mantle' - a dead yank
A 'Paris Hilton' - a very expensive hole |

AND FINALLY
This morning I went to sign my
dogs up for welfare. At first the lady said, "Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare."
So I explained to her that my dogs are unemployed, lazy, can't speak English and have no frigging clue who their
daddies are. They expect me to feed them and provide them with housing and medical care.
So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify. My
dogs start receiving their first checks Friday.
SEE
YOU BACK IN JULY |
