LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
Awesome!
The McCarty Metro, Bradric Productions, and KHTS Radio celebrated
in style the 150th episode of the Rick's Martini Bar podcast at
the plush Fox and Hounds Restaurant in Studio City California on
Tuesday, October 15. In attendance were over 100 fans of the show
broadcast on KHTS radio, and downloaded weekly from the iTunes
store and on the McCarty Metro website. The podcast started over 3
years ago with a debate over Pie & Cake when Jerry McCarty
& Brad Savage took the question out to the public. The show
now revolves around Hollywood, with regulars Rick Farmiloe, Amanda
Raymond and Jerry McCarty. The special evening the gang had actor
and musician Bill Mumy (Lost in Space), actress Kelli Moroney
(Fast Times at Ridgemont High), actress Heidi Hollicker (Valley
Girl), and musician Bob Cowsill (The Cowsills). After the show,
there was lots of great music. They even had Jake Owen and his
band come to the party after an appearance on the Conan O'Brien
show down the street play. Congrats to Rick's Martini Bar, and may
they have another 150. CHEERS!

DATELINE: DETROIT, MICHIGAN
Austin McCarty's
running this year brought him to his final run of 2013, as he
competed in the Detroit Free Press Marathon held on October 20th in
Detroit, Michigan. Austin joined runners from all over the world
competing in on the chilly Sunday morning. Congratulations to
Austin
DATELINE: THE DETROIT ZOO
In an 'official' and unprecidented
triple date, Ausin & Hilary, Brad & Valerie, and Kelly
& Margaret visited the Detroit Zoo. It was Hilary's first
time. The 6 had a great time riding the train, seeing the animals,
and enjoying the Halloween exhibits set up around the part. After
the Zoo, they all hooked back up at Metro HQ, for some cocktails
and a rousing game of 1 Degree Of Separation.

DATELINE: GRAND
RAPIDS, MICHIGAN
Mike and Karen McCarty's garden yielded a 9.5-pound butternut squash in the final harvest of the season. (Full disclosure: Mike's wife, Karen, picked the whopping gourd Oct. 15, but Mike put the plant in the dirt in spring.) Anyway, this beats by 2 pounds the other squash from the garden. After Mike gets done using the thing for a dumbbell, Mike's looking forward to another delicious squash dish from Karen. Next year, Mike has two goals: a 10-pound squash and world peace.

DATELINE: SHELBY
TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN
Many entertainers
have graced the hallowed halls of Shelby Crossings, but back by
popular demand is the McCarty Metro's own (yeah, we'll take credit
for him) Mike McCarty. Mike played the guitar and sang songs of
yesteryear to the residents, including his mother Jean. Mike said
he had a great visit with mom, and the gig went great, other than
the fact that when he was playing a song that he didn't know, mom
kept yelling C.... D..... F MINOR... Mike can't wait to get
invited back again.

Dear Editor, Does Detroit still do a Thanksgiving Day Parade? -Curious
ED NOTE: Of course they do.
Even though Sonny Eliot is dead, and JL Hudsons is closed, the show must go on.
This year's big float is entitled 'Bankupcy'
Dear Editor, I've always heard the saying, "When two vowels go a walking, the first one do the talking". Is this a hard fast rule? -Hooked on Phonics
ED NOTE: That is generally the
hard and fast rule, but if that first vowel tries to pick a fight with some home
boy consonents, it is up to the second vowel to slap some sense into the first.
I believe that is grammar 101.

Dear Editor, I've heard for a tasty Thanksgiving meal, you can stick a can of beer up the butt of a turkey. Those things run fast. What's the secret for catching one of those and holding it still long enough to stick the can of beer up its butt? -Just sounds wrong
ED
NOTE: Wrong on so many levels. I read in a cookbook though that
you don't chase it... You have to kill it. Then, before you put
the can of brew up the arse, you have to really butter it up
first. I guess by saying "Oh... Your a beautiful bird",
or "Nice Breasts". Then just shove it in.
Dear Editor, I just read "Good and Plenty" is the oldest candy. Now, I have tasted some truly old Good and Plenty, but I was wondering if this candy is more GOOD or more PLENTY? -Mike and Ike
ED
NOTE: The Good vs. Plenty case was settled in the courts. I stand
by their decision, but you have it wrong... the oldest candy lives
on Sussex. Candy Brown takes those honors.
Dear Editor. You got some explaining to do. The previous month's trivia question was asking what other state borders 8 states and the answer was Texas. I only count 4 states. What are the other 4 states? -Four For Fore and no Mo
ED
NOTE: I believe it was explained in the Did You Know section below the
answer. There are 4 US states, and 4 Mexican states that surround
Texas. The 4 US states I learned in school, and they are New
Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. The 4 Mexican states, I
learned from wrestler Luis Martinez, and the old neighbors in
Detroit. They are Areba, Aballard, Acokie, and Ababette.
