Roosevelt Jones, a Grand Rapids duo featuring guitarist Mike McCarty and drummer Joe Lehman, played two dates in July in the Holland Street Performer Series. A third date in early August was rained out, and the popular series ended Aug. 30.

The duo played an acoustic variety of vintage blues, pop, country and more.

Mike reports, "Our July 5 gig hit 100 degrees, but we made it through. And we're looking forward to '13."

COMING SEPTEMBER 21:
'I CAN'T FACE FACEBOOK'

Mike will sing the blues in a one-man show, "I Can't Face Facebook, I Got the Low-down, Low-tech Blues." The event at Grand Rapids' Bethlehem Lutheran Church is a fundraiser for the MAJIC concert series. The series raises funds to combat homelessness. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. and the show follows.
