Gina
and Larry held a five day Tennessee wedding
celebration from September 1st through Labor Day the
5th that drew people from across the USA and even
international. Starting with the arrival of the
California McCarty's on Thursday, they were joined
by the rest of the McCarty Clan on Friday for a big
pizza party. The wedding celebration took
place on Saturday at the Capitol Movie Theater in
Lebanon, TN. The town square was adorned in green
ribbons and the theater marquee announced the Irish
wedding. Attending were guests from
California, Michigan, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana,
Texas, with a special attendee from Turkey and a
video shout out from Ireland. The cocktail hour
featured movie music and dance scenes on the big
screen, followed by clips from Happy Hair
Productions and a montage of Gina and Larry photos.
Kelly McCarty performed a heartfelt ceremony.
The reception highlights featured great food, three
fun toasts, dancing, and karaoke. The crowd
favorite was Kelly and Jerry McCarty singing,
"You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore".
Sunday featured an outdoor pool party for our out of
town guests and a small handful celebrated floating
in the pool on Monday.
Gina
and Larry want to thank everyone who came to
celebrate with them, and helping to make their wedding day special.

McCarty
cousin, Facebook friend, and Metro subscriber Barbara Guzdial, age 74, died
peacefully August 30, 2016 after a long battle with
cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and three
daughters.
Barbara married her husband, Bernard, on February 10,
1962. They raised three daughters, and Barbara enjoyed the
title she loved the best, Nana to her three grandsons,
Tyler, Andrew and Ryan. In addition to raising her family,
Barbara was the parish secretary at St. Mary Magdalen for
14 years. A place that was more than a job to her, it was
her desire to help others who came to the rectory offices
for help.
.
.
Family was Barb’s passion
and she loved to keep a swimming pool in her back yard for
the family to come over to swim and visit. She loved to
host her family’s reunion and was delighted to see just
how big her family with her sisters and brothers had
actually become. She has helped to create many lifelong
family memories with her backyard reunions.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Bernard, daughters
Lisa (Mark) Chrysler, Barbara Guzdial and Karen (Paul)
Spiteri. She is also survived by her three grandsons,
Tyler, Andrew and Ryan. She also leaves behind her loving
sisters, Carlene (Jordan) Pantelides, Cathy (Frank)
Guastella and brothers, Chuck (Kathleen) Calati and
Anthony (Barbara) Calati and many nieces and nephews.
The family has asked for donations to The American Cancer
Society or Reverence Hospice through St. John Providence
Foundations, Mack Office Building, Suite12, 22101 Moross
Road, Detroit, Michigan 48236-2148. Per the instructions
of Barbara, she requested cremation with a funeral mass.
