JERRY'S
WORLD
This
is the 9th win in 11 years for
Jerry's World. In his monthly
article for the McCarty Metro, Jerry
takes you back to a simpler time and
compares it to the current crop of
grand-brat McCarty's. Congrats
to the writer, Jerry McCarty!

BEST
MONTHLY FEATURE OF 2015 |
Although
the entries below that are in this category do not
necessarily have their own individual page every
month, each one is essential in helping to make
the McCarty Metro a complete newsletter, and to
keep our subscribers happy and informed.
THE NOMINEES ARE...
Gone But Not Forgotten
June Film Project
Secret Celebrity

What The Hell Is That? |
SECRET
CELEBRITY
This
is the second win for the McCarty

Kelly comes up with a photo of a
well-known celebrity, at a different
point in their life, and Metro
readers try to guess who it
is. Congrats
Kelly.

The
dictionary describes writing as a medium of human communication that represents language and emotion through the inscription or recording of signs and symbols.
The
McCarty Metro would be nothing without our
writers. I would like to personally thank everyone
who writes anything from a small blurb to what
Mike, Jerry, and Kelly contribute every month.

JERRY
McCARTY
This
is the 11th consecutive win for
Jerry in the Best Writing category. He
not only is one of our top
submitters to the Metro, but Jerry
also
authors Jerry's World, Bob Hope

Jocko and appears weekly in the pod cast
Rick's Martini Bar. Jerry
underwent cancer treatment near
the end of last year on into this
year, but never missed a deadline. I just want to thank you for
all you do, and Congrats on this
award Jerry!

It's
always fun to get away and travel. We at the Metro
encourage our subscribers whenever they travel
from work or pleasure, to let us know, so we can

of new places. Below are some of the better
destinations.
THE NOMINEES ARE...
Albuquerque NM Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (Larry & Gina)
Bonaroo in Tennessee (Austin)

VEGAS,
BABY, VEGAS
In
January, 2015 a Vegas trip
happened with McCartys Steve,
Jerry, Kelly, Larry, Rick and
Mike, along with Robert Lopez. It
was a few days of fun and almost
an entire family reunion.
Highlight of the trip was Mike
(who was wearing a bad toupee)
reached for the dice on the craps
game, and the hair fell into the
middle of the table. Normally, the
workers and pit boss would be
alarmed, but they were laughing so
hard, it didn't matter. |

READERS
PICK
BOB
HOPE, TWEETS FROM HEAVEN The
legendary Bob Hope passed away in
2003 at the age of 100. Five years
later, Metro writer Jerry McCarty
started intercepting 'tweets' from
the deceased comedian in heaven,
and posted them on Twitter. Since July of
2008, our readers have been able
to read those
tweets every month in his unique
style right here in the McCarty
Metro. Who would have figured that
13 years after his death, Mr. Hope
would receive an award for his
comedy. Isn't that wild???
Congratulations Jerry! |
EDITOR'S
PICK
BOB
& JEAN McCARTY Let's
face it. Without these two great
individuals falling in love, there
would be no McCarty Metro, no Brad
Savage & The Cockroaches, no
Mac & The Lost Cause, and most
definitely not the same fine 8 men
called the McCarty brothers. I am
in awe of the love, kindness, and nurturing
from these two people I had (and
have) the privilege to call my mom
and dad. The brought up 8 boys on
a Detroit cop's salary, and there
was never anything that we went
without. Congrats Mom & Pop! |
