Located 2 hours from Cincinnati and 2 hours from Nashville, Bernheim Forest in Shepherdsville, Kentucky is reported to be home to three huge trolls. This called for a road trip!

Once inside the forest, we came upon Little Nis, sitting at the bank of a lake gazing at his reflection.

A closer look at Little Nis revealed he is the creation of Copenhagen's artist, Thomas Dambo, who made this giant from recycled bourbon barrel staves, scraps from the Louisville Slugger Museum, and fallen trees.

Onward we went into the forest to discover Momma Loumari resting peacefully against a redwood tree. Upon close examination, one could tell that Loumari is pregnant and soon would deliver yet another troll to roam this forest.

Not wanting to disturb Momma Loumari, we continued our search for Elina. After walking slightly over 1 mile into the forest, we came upon Elina, placing stones in the shape of a feather.

After the shock of seeing these massive giant trolls, we headed back out of the forest and drove to the James Beam Distillery for a stiff bourbon drink to calm my nerves.
