We arrived in Mexico on
June 17, 2009. We found that the pools and beaches were wonderful. The
all-inclusive Iberostar Lindo Resort with the free food and booze was
wonderful. We had dinner at a Mexican Restaurant as a group that night.
The following day, we got our "Spanish For Dummies" book. In the
evening we all got together at the Star Wars themed Disco. On Friday,
while the guys had another awesome day at the beach, the girls had a
"special" lunch with Amanda. Later, we had the wedding rehearsal,
dinner, and went out for cocktails after.
Chris & Amanda's
wedding day was Saturday, June 20th. It was a picture perfect day! Having
the ceremony on the beach was very picturesque. The reception was held in
an open-air restaurant. A mariachi band played before dinner, and music
filled the evening after dinner. It was a wonderful time.
After the wedding day,
we got back to more sun bathing and swimming. We also went to a Japanese
Steakhouse where they prepared the dinner right in front of us. One cool
part was when Alfredo (our chef) made a flaming volcano out of an onion.
Margaret, along with her
brother Chris and his wife Beverly, niece Tina, and cousin Nancy took an
excursion to Tulum to visit some ancient Mayan ruins. They had a good
time, although the bus rides were rather long.
While that group was in
Tulum, the kids and I rested on the beach. We also went in the
"Wave" pool, and took a journey down the lazy river. That
evening when everyone was back, we all got together to take in dinner at a
French Restaurant where we ordered some exotic foods. On the last full day
in Mexico, we relaxed. Margaret took a Kayak into the Gulf of Mexico,
Chris & Beverly went Para-Sailing, and Brad, Austin, and their cousin
Matt took some Wave-Runners into the ocean.
