.Hi Gwenda, My brother Larry turns 50 this month. What drinks would be suitable to mark this milestone? Note: The birthday boy lives in Tennessee. -One of the Yankee Macs How about a little bit of California, and little bit of Tennessee for the birthday boy? Here are 2 of my faves... A Mexican Hillbilly. You just pour a mug of Corona and drop in a shot of Jack Daniels. OR a Tennessee Margarita. You just pour 1/2 oz Grand Marnier, 1 oz Jack Daniel's, 1oz Sweet & Sour, 1oz lime juice into a rocks glass filled with ice. Squeeze in a lime wedge, and serve.
Gwenda, Great drink selections for April. Do you have any for May and, in particular, Memorial Day picnics or parties? -Wondering in GR I myself like anything that has fruit in it and alcohol.. So I recommend Jungle Juice. This is probably the nearest towards the Jungle Juice recipe that's become a hit in America, not a cocktail by the same name, but a full-blown party occasion punch. If you hear people talking about Jungle Juice, this is it. Jungle Juice takes a lot of preparation but, obviously, is well worth the effort. It has become a party favorite throughout Missouri and New York, tweaked to perfection throughout the years. Jungle Juice is an incredibly potent drink, and this recipe will make up to 20 gallons. Use dry ice to keep it cold and stirred up. 1 L Everclear® alcohol 5.25 L (3 1.75L bottles) vodka 1 bottle peach schnapps 1 pint Bacardi® 151 rum 1 bottle 99 Apples® apple schnapps 10 L Sprite® soda 1 L Sunny Delight® orange juice 1 L triple sec 1.75 L bottle gin 1 bottle DeKuyper® Sour Apple Pucker schnapps 4 bottles Boone's Farm® Strawberry Hill wine 8 L Hawaiian Punch® 2 containers orange juice concentrate fruit
| | Use a large container ice chest or similar. Allow the fruit to soak in all the alcohol for about 4 - 12 hours. Add all the juice and let sit overnight. Serve the next day. Be careful, just because you eat the fruit, doesn't mean that you still cant get a drunken smile. As for any fantastic parties, as of now Miami looks to be the hit party place to be in the Southeast. The southern mid west seems to be heading to South Padre Island, TX. I know that Lake Havasue, Arizona is the premier party place if you are a water person and you own a boat. In fact, so many people travel there that at some points in the lake boat traffic cant get through and people walk across the bows of the boats to get were they want to go. And, we most certainly cant forget about Las Vegas, NV and Lake Meade AZ. Lake Meade is very close to Las Vegas, it may only be a 30 minute drive at the most. Its not only beautiful, but a refreshing sensation in the dry desert it exists in. Las Vegas is a lot of fun, and this is the biggest party of season. Its packed with people and hot as "Satens Lair'. So go with fans, misters, sunscreen and great air conditioning. Happy Safe Memorial Weekend/Day! Gwenda . | A Mojito Recipe submitted by ChrissyHello! Below is the recipe for mojitos. Driving Home Very DrunkIt seems a gentleman had too much alcohol at a party, was heading home, and was pulled over by a state trooper. Upon being tested, the fellow couldn't walk a straight line any more than he could drive one, so the trooper wrote out a ticket and had just given it to the driver before an accident in the opposite lane took his attention to more important matters. The inebriated driver, figuring that the trooper wasn't coming back to him, drove home and went to bed. he was awakened in the morning by a knock at the door, created by two more state troopers. "Are you Mr. Johnson?" the asked? He admitted that he was. "Were you pulled over at Main Street last night for driving under the influence?" Again, the man admitted that was he. "And what did you do then," the troopers asked." The man replied that he drove his car home and went to bed. "Where is your car now?" the troopers enquired. The man answered that it was in the garage. "May we see the car?" asked the troopers. The man answered, "Sure," and opened the garage. Inside the garage was the state troopers car. |
