DATELINE OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN The wait is... OVER. The newest addition to the McCarty clan made her appearance at 6:13 AM on February 8, 2005. Steve & Kristen McCarty chose the baby's name from many Metro submissions made in the January issue. Jenna Kiara McCarty weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz, and measured 20.5". Both Mom and baby are doing fine and are now home. Pictured is Megan showing her new baby sister the proper way to smile when the cameras are flashing. |
| DATELINE HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA Metro editor and reporter Kelly McCarty recently went on assignment to Hollywood, California to get the scoop on all the stars. He files his report on a special page later in this issue. However, Kelly and fellow reporter Jerry McCarty did also meet up with childhood friend and horror movie producer Dennis Devine in a Hollywood eatery across the street from the Kodak Theater where the 2005 Academy Awards were held. A lot of nostalgia took place at the lunch, with remembering things that happened on Sussex. We were saddened at the news that Mary Devine passed away last year, but mother Nellie, and family members Pat, Mike, and Kathy are all doing well and living in California. |

. DATELINE ROMEO, MICHIGAN In a press conference held recently, Steve McCarty announced that the 10th Annual Dan McCarty Golf Classic has been awarded to Greystone Golf and Country Club. Greystone beat out several other golf courses in their quest to hold the prestigious event for the seventh time. The DMGC raised over $10,000 last year for the Lupus Alliance of America in an event held at Twin Lakes Golf Club, and hopes to do better this year. Over the past 9 years, the event has raised thousands of dollars for worthy charities in Dan's name, including the Kidney Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Heart Association and the Lupus Alliance. This year's outing will be held on August 6, 2005. Mark your calendars now, and more details will be forthcoming a future McCarty Metro. . |
DATELINE OAKLAND, MICHIGAN Megan and Steve McCarty went to their first daddy-daughter dance recently. Steve wowed the crowd of 6 year old girls with his now infamous "Robot" dance. When the dance was finished, Steve and Megan then crashed the Third Annual Oakland Township "Senior Citizen's Mixer" Here's a picture of the dancin' fools :) |

. DATELINE FRASER, MICHIGAN Fraser Rambler Basketball is back on the map thanks to some familiar faces. Not since the 1997-1998 season has Fraser won a conference championship. Back in that year when the Ramblers went undefeated in the conference season (16-0) Fraser was coached by Marshall Wandrei and led by it's top players Chris McCarty (center), Dan Kresbaugh (forward), Brian Williams and Kevin McGuffie (guards). Well, DEJAVOUS!!! Wandrei led the team to the MAC Blue title this year with help from his 4 key assistant coaches McCarty, Kresbaugh, Williams and McGuffie. The current Ramblers won by 1 game over Roseville and finished with a 9-3 conference mark. Congratulations! . |
