Of course, many newspapers strive for the journalistic integrity that is a staple for the past 30 years in the Metro. In doing so, they think they can accomplish this through featuring various McCartys in their rags.
St. Michael's The Messenger February 1, 2004 The Messenger went right for the jugular by featuring Mom McCarty in a recent article. They thought that by kissing up to the mother of the Metro that maybe she would "loan" them a few seasoned reporters. ED NOTE: MOM IMMEDIATELY SIGNED OVER MIKE & DENNIS!
Detroit News February 4, 2004 The Detroit News cornered the editor of the Metro for about 2 hours one day. They got Kelly's views on how to run a successful newspaper. They also asked questions on many issues ranging from the economy, the Iraq war, the question of life after death, future political aspirations, but all they used was an off the cuff question about should the PGA play more events overseas. ED NOTE: THAT IS NOT JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY!
Grand Rapids Press February 14, 2004 Wedding Announcement Ah. The Grand Rapids Press thinks they were shrewd by breaking the wedding news first, and by having the first published picture of Missy & Ryan. ED NOTE: THE METRO HAD THE FIRST BREAKING NEWS OF THE WEDDING, AND ALSO A PICTURE OF RYAN HITTING A GIGANTIC SOCCER BALL OFF HIS HEAD AT STEVE AND KRISTEN'S HOUSE WITH MISSY WATCHING.
