GULL LAKE 35 IS JUST A COUPLE MONTHS OUT - McCARTYS ARE BACK!!!

After missing the tournament with two knee replacements over the last 2 years, founding member Kelly McCarty is back! He won the tournament in 2016, and was hobbling around the following year and was not able to successfully defend the title. Also back is Steve McCarty who is looking for the green jacket and joining other McCartys Rick, Dan, and Kelly as champions. You will notice that Wednesday we're only playing 18 holes with a later tee time to enable those not staying Tuesday night. Mike Wiacek is hoping to set up the barbeque on Wednesday night if everyone agrees. We need a minimum of eight to schedule the barbeque. You'll notice the change of Bedford on Friday it's having work done on it Wednesday and a tournament Thursday. If you are interested in making the trip, please let us know ASAP!

DATELINE: GOLFING ON CHRISTMAS

Four old-timers were playing their weekly Wednesday game of golf, when one observed that in three weeks Wednesday would be Christmas. They all agreed that it would be nice to wake up on Christmas morning, roll out of bed and go directly to the golf course without an argument from you know who. With a hearty, "Let's do it!”  they planned to figure out a way and meet at the course Christmas morning.

Sure enough as Christmas morning arrives, all four were front and center at the golf course. Dick says, "Boy, this game cost me a fortune!  I bought my wife such a big diamond ring that she can't take her eyes off it". Lee says, "Same except my wife is at home planning the cruise I gave her.  She was up to her eyeballs in brochures." Joe says, "Me too. My wife is at home admiring her new Lexus, reading the manual."

They all turned to Ben who was staring at them like they all had lost their minds. "I can't believe you all went to such expense for this golf game.  When I woke up this morning, I slapped my wife on the butt and said, ‘Well, Honey, Merry Christmas!  It's a great morning for sex or golf.’ She said, "Take a sweater".

DATELINE: MARYLAND AND NEW YORK CITY

On Christmas Day 2019, Karen and Mike and Chris flew out from Michigan to see Andy and Ann and their children — Sam, Max, and Gracie — for four days in Monkton, Md. We had a great time playing games and visiting. Highlights of the trip included Uncle Chris and nephew Max going "skydiving" in a wind tunnel in White Marsh, Md. And we spent one day taking a bus to New York City and walking around, seeing sights such as Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, Central Park, the theater district, and crowds. We had burgers and the like at The Elgin. Great time with the Maryland McCartys!

DATELINE: CHRISTMAS McPARTY

Steve & Kristen hosted the annual McCarty Christmas Party (McParty). It was a great time with family. The pajama party concept was a hit as well. Plenty of good food, drink, games, conversation, and company. Thank You Steve & Kristen for welcoming all of us into your beautiful home!

Great Party and a good time was had by all

All The McCarty Grand-Brats At The Bar

The average cost of rehabilitating a seal after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska was $80,000. At a special ceremony, two of the most expensively saved animals were released back into the wild amid cheers and applause from onlookers. A minute later, in full view, they were both eaten by a killer whale.

A psychology student in New York rented out her spare room to a carpenter in order to nag him constantly and study his reactions. After weeks of needling, he snapped and beat her with an ax leaving her mentally retarded.

A woman came home to find her husband in the kitchen, shaking frantically with what looked like a wire running from his waist towards the electric kettle. Intending to jolt him away from the deadly current she whacked him with a handy plank of wood by the back door, breaking his arm in two places. Until that moment he had been happily listening to his ipod.

Two animal rights protesters were protesting at the cruelty of sending pigs to a slaughterhouse in Bonn. Suddenly the pigs, all two thousand of them, escaped through a broken fence and stampeded, trampling the two hapless protesters to death.

And finally...

Iraqi terrorist, Khay Rahnajet, didn’t pay enough postage on a letter bomb. It came back with “return to sender” stamped on it. Forgetting it was the bomb, he opened it and was blown to bits.

DATELINE: WILSON COUNTY, TN

(CNN) — Spencer Boston had a message. And nothing was going to stop him from delivering it -- not even jail time.

Boston, 20, was in court Monday in Wilson County, Tennessee, facing a simple marijuana possession charge, according to Wilson County Sheriff's Department Lt. Scott Moore. But as he stood to face Judge Haywood Barry, he began expressing his views on why weed should be legalized. And to amplify his point, he reached into his jacket and slipped out a single marijuana cigarette. He then pulled out a box of matches and, you guessed it, lit it up.

Boston got in several quick inhales before security personnel realized what was happening. They detained Boston and escorted him out of the courtroom, Moore said. Boston wasn't done, though. Before being led out, he turned to the gallery and declared, "The people deserve better!" The courtroom burst out laughing, Moore told CNN.

Boston's message came at a cost. The Wilson County Sheriff's Office said Boston was charged with disorderly conduct and simple possession of marijuana. Barry also held him in contempt of court for his actions. Boston is currently serving 10 days in jail for contempt. Afterward, he's eligible to post a $3,000 bond, Moore said. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 14.

(Reuters) - Have a cold one, have an “El Chapo” beer. That’s the message of Alejandrina Guzman, whose company has developed a craft beer dedicated to her infamous, incarcerated kingpin father Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

The beer is part of the “El Chapo 701” brand, which has already launched a clothing line, and gets its name from when Forbes named him the 701st richest person in the world in 2009. Forbes estimated his net worth at $1 billion at the time.

“This is an artisan beer, with 4% alcohol. This prototype is a lager, and it’s made up of malt, rice and honey so it’s good,” said Adriana Ituarte, a salesperson for the brand. “And the idea is for it to be sold at bars that stock craft beer.” A 355 ml bottle is due to be priced at 70.10 pesos ($3.73).

“El Chapo”, who shipped narcotics around the world and escaped two maximum security prisons before his final capture, was extradited to the United States in 2017 and found guilty in a U.S. court last year on a host of drug trafficking charges. He was sentenced to life in prison.
