Happy New Year to our readers and writers!!! I am looking forward to a great 2008 and look forward to bringing you all the latest news of our family.

I recently joined Facebook. I was apprehensive at first, but it is really pretty cool. My user name is Brad Savage if anyone wants to become friends with me. I did meet an old Parkman classmate named John Albright already through it.

I would also like to introduce our brand new video chat room. I am quite excited by it as my goddaughter Megan got me a new webcam for Christmas. Whether you have a webcam or not, stop on by on Sunday nights at 9pm EST and join in the video, audio, or text chat. Also, feel free to use anytime you would like to and invite your friends to chat. It's open 24/7

.
I would finally like to officially welcome our newest subscribers Amy & Kathy. Thank you for clicking on the free email updates to the McCarty Metro and welcome to our family.

Now... On to my final thought for this month...

My life is likely to last less than 15 years, so any separation from you is likely to be painful. Please give me time to understand what you want of me. You can place your trust in me... It is crucial for my well-being. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment.  Remember, you have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Love them, enjoy them, and take good care of them.
